About Us

Outreach for Jesus held its organizational meeting on Sunday, February 3rd, 1991, at the Hamlet Senior Citizen Building. Ten people gathered for the morning meeting and fourteen for the evening meeting. The following week’s service was held at Pastor Marvin and Ms. Wanda’s home, with seven people in attendance, and plans were made to rent the Hamlet Lion’s Club Building until a permanent location could be found. As we began in the Lion’s Club, our congregation quickly grew to 60, and even with limited space and time, God blessed us with the presentation of our first Easter drama.

With the encouragement and support of the congregation, we began our search for property, and the Cowboys nightclub building was converted to Outreach for Jesus, with our first service being held in September of 1991. Over the next two years, we began to outgrow that building, and the MT Center became a reality. As our ministry grew, plans for our current sanctuary were set in place and completed in 1998.

Outreach for Jesus is an interdenominational church based on the belief of salvation through the blood of Jesus Christ. Our ministries have been many over the years, and our desire is to always be in His will. We are thankful to have seen many saved, healed, and filled with the Spirit during the years of this ministry. As you browse our website, we pray that you feel God’s presence in all that we do!
